Frustrated doglet
I experience a lot of frustration whenever I try to do illustration. Trying to muster up some patience. The hardest part for me is creating images on a smaller scale. It’s hard for me to condense all the marks that I make into a concise, well-designed image that lies beautifully on the page. Here’s a little one I’m developing for some greeting cards. If it were up to me, there would be a little more going on here, but I need to realize that not everyone would like a card with a drawing of something giving birth on it.

In what sick world is black less opaque than dark grey? These are two prints at the same stage, the last layer printed in black.
Anyone know why Akua black can’t print over Akua grey?
Here’s a look at the progress of this print. I started by printing the lightest grey first, and then carved some to print the orange (far left) and darker grey (middle). I decided to keep three of the lightest grey prints as is. Thought the simplicity was nice. The print on the far left is the same as the one on the far right (far right has that last layer of black printed on top). The two darker greys are duds. That middle grey was just not working when I tried to print black over it (second from the right shows the lack of contrast with black on top).
Myles at the shop, feeling pensive
I’ve managed to pull my first edition of t-shirts. (Check ‘em out here.) Been feeling really, really lucky to share a little shop with Patrick (Beast USA) and AJ (Holodrome Studio) here in Milwaukee. They supported me in my first experience with plastisol printing. This is the little home studio that AJ and I share (that awesome whip scorpion print is AJ’s).
